The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of Nazareth College of Rochester, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2023. The department seeks candidates committed to undergraduate teaching excellence at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal arts curricula and professional programs. Candidates will develop a strong research program involving undergraduate students. 

The Nazareth College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is located in Peckham Hall, a 74,000 square foot facility for integrated math and science. Peckham Hall features state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities in addition to various updated instrumentation available for both research and teaching usage. Requirements

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field and demonstrated experience educating diverse populations of students.

The successful candidate is expected to teach Organic Chemistry I and II, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry Laboratory, General Chemistry, General Chemistry Laboratory, Preparatory Chemistry for non-majors, and Introduction to Scientific Communication. Teaching responsibilities may also include upper-level courses including electives in their area of expertise, and courses in the college core curriculum.
